 BOOKINGS AND PAYMENTS

All expeditions and tours are booked on a “first-come, first serve” basis. All rates are quoted in US dollars, unless otherwise stated.

 

BOOKING FEE/DEPOSIT

Due to the individual/personal nature of our tours and expeditions, a non-refundable booking deposit of 25% must be received before your tour/ expedition dates can be confirmed. This fee is non- refundable and it will be deducted from the total amount payable for your tour/ expedition.

 

PAYMENTS

The final payment is due 60 days before your tour/expedition start date. Payment by bank wire transfer is preferred. Credit cards are not accepted. Proof of payment via email is required (e.g. bank transfer slip etc.) Your itinerary and costings is subject to change in the event of exceptional cost increases such as fuel surcharges, or extreme currency fluctuations etc.

 

CANCELLATION

The booking fee/deposit of 25% is non-refundable. From 60 days to your tour/ expedition start date there is a 100% cancellation fee. Any cancellation by the client must be in email/writing and acknowledged by Guyana Truly Wild. The date on which the correspondence is received will determine the loss of any monies applicable.

 Guyana Truly Wild reserves the right to refuse a booking or cancel a expedition/tour  without giving reason or compensation.  In such instances, all monies paid up to that date will be refunded including the booking fee/deposit.

 

ACCEPTANCE OF RISK
Nature and adventure travel is by character, an activity that often requires traveling in remote, isolated, rugged and wilderness terrain often far away from medical facilities. Booking a expedition/tour with us involves activities that are potentially dangerous such as but not limited to :camping, wildlife spotting, canoeing, wilderness hikes, fishing, boating etc. Whilst every precaution is taken to ensure the comfort and safety of our clients, these trips do have elements of unavoidable  risks and dangers, that may occur, including but not limited to: illness, accidents involving travel by air, automobile, boats or other conveyance, wildlife and the forces of nature such as tree falls, flooding and inclement weather. By taking part in this expedition/tour you acknowledge that there are inherent risks and that you are fully aware of the conditions of travel, accommodation and activities offered. You accept that Guyana Truly Wild, our staff and sub-contractors cannot be held liable for any accident, illness or similar occurrence. You hereby accept all such risks and release Guyana Truly Wild from all claims and causes of action arising from any injuries or damages resulting from these inherent risks.

 

TRAVEL INSURANCE
All clients book expeditions/ tours at their own risk and therefore its the client's responsibility to obtain mandatory personal travel insurance. This insurance should be adequate for the tour and  as a minimum cover:

Personal health

Accidents

Emergency evacuation

Medical expenses

Repatriation expenses

It is also recommended that the coverage extends to include loss of effects, curtailment, cancellations and all other expenses which might arise as a result of loss, damage, injury, delay, cancellations or inconvenience occurring to the client that may result in the inability to travel or curtail your trip. 

AUTHORITY ON TRIP
At all times the decision of the Guyana Truly Wild or its representative will be final on all matters likely to endanger the safety, well being and enjoyment of the trip. Clients must at all times strictly comply with the laws, customs, and foreign exchange and drug regulations of Guyana. Should the client fail to comply with the above or commit any illegal act when on a trip or if in the company's opinion, the client’s behavior causes or could cause danger, distress or annoyance to others, we may terminate that client's travel arrangements without any liability on the company's part.

 CONDITION RESTRAINTS
You have selected a trip that is in a remote, isolated, rugged and wild location. This adds to the adventure and opportunity to enjoy a true wilderness experience. However, due to the nature of the terrain, weather, road and river conditions, and other elements beyond our control, some elements and or activities of expeditions/tours  may have to be altered or changed or may even be  cancelled.  If an activity is cancelled, it will be, if and where feasible be replaced with an alternative activity that is more appropriate for the conditions. Advance notice will be given for any changes where possible, although at times changes may be made whilst the tour/expedition  is in progress.

 

FORCE MAJEURE
 Guyana Truly Wild will do its best to minimize the effects of matters outside its control but cannot accept liability of these matters which include but not limited to: political disputes, industrial action, refusal of visas, border closures, unforeseeable climate, delayed or cancelled flights etc.


         WILDLIFE SIGHTINGS +  SPORT FISHING
With any trip involving wildlife or fishing it is impossible to guarantee a sighting or catch, but each trip is designed around known habitats. We will make every effort to maximize chances, but cannot be held responsible if no sighting/catch is made due to the wildlife itself, weather, river levels or any other elements beyond our control.  

LOCAL CULTURE
Many of the areas to be visited are remote and cultures of the people are most likely different to what you are accustomed to. These communities welcome visitors under the condition that their customs, habits, and rituals are respected at all times. We will endeavor to provide appropriate guidance to visitors as to correct behavior whilst in these communities. Guyana Truly Wild  reserves the right to cancel a visitor's trip, at any time, should their behavior be inappropriate or offensive to the local communities.

RESPONSIBILITY

Clients are responsible for booking their international and internal travel and lodging in Georgetown unless otherwise stated. Guyana Truly Wild only provides services for the expeditions/tours outlined in itineraries provided unless otherwise stated.

Notice is hereby given that all arrangements made on behalf of clients by Guyana Truly Wild is done on the sole condition and understanding that the we shall not be held responsible for any injury, death, accident, delay, loss, damage or irregularity which may be occasioned through acts of Guyana Truly Wild or any company and or persons engaged in carrying out the arrangements. This includes transport companies, hotels, lodges, tour operators, guides or other contractors.

Guyana Truly Wild  shall not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, delay or irregularity that may occur, including, but not limited to, any defect in a vehicle or any other form of conveying a traveler, acts of God, detention, delays or expenses arising from quarantine, strike, riots, theft, force majeure, civil disturbance, government restrictions or regulation, accident by aircraft, boat, motor vehicle or any other form of transport or in any hotel, resort, ranch, guest house, camp or other form of accommodation.


Payment for an expedition/tour is taken as acknowledgement and acceptance of all of the above terms and conditions.

 

COMPLAINTS

Guyana Truly Wild is registered and licensed by the Guyana Tourism Authority. In the event you are dissatisfied with our service and if an amicable settlement cannot be reached you have the right to exercise your legal rights and contact the Guyana Tourism Authority.
